heritage, productive, critical and environmental issues of stained glass art. The rescue of the
historical process of the stained glass art in the world in relation to the Brazilian
Brazilian artistic productions, through a historical literature review, helps to understand the
understanding of the state of art in Brazil, its challenges and potentialities,
articulating global and local aspects. The study starts from the observation of
necessity of a process of systematization of preservation applied to the conservation and

  • The dissertation intends to compile the articles produced throughout the research, whose central theme is the actions, the bodies, in the construction of the urban environment. From the understanding that art/science are linked to ways of seeing and moving in the world, we deal with knowledge devices for extended analysis as a way of understanding the complexity that unfolds before our eyes. From the Parque-Escola Chacrinha -UFSJ extension program, two articles were developed: The first deals with an action continued in the Araçá neighborhood, São João del-Rei, which articulated several actors and institutions through tactical urbanism in urban qualification. The second, starts from affective cartography to trace the rhizomatic movements of the planner-educator and traces of actions in the institution and subjects. The third article leaves the public educational institution and becomes involved in capoeira as an intangible heritage, at the time of safeguarding people as assets coexisting with the creation of intangible products.

  • In this work, we aim to understand the influences of art, its discussions and its historical movements in an
urban occupation, located in the center of Belo Horizonte - the Kasa Invisível. For this, we rescued the
approximation between historical movements of art, such as Realism, Dadaism and Surrealism and their
influence on the Situationists, to thought and historical rebel movements, such as the Paris Commune and
the publication of the Communist Manifesto. We also investigated the artistic character of contemporary
rebel movements, which influenced projects that preceded Kasa, in the city of Belo Horizonte. Kasa
Invisível is a project that was born during the June 2013 revolts in Brazil, within the scene of rebel
movements and groups in the city, and works as a social center, carrying out activities such as festivals,
film screenings, workshops, etc.; it houses production cooperatives and is also housing for low-income
people. It was born in the wake of a series of autonomist, anti-capitalist projects and groups, influenced
by anarchist thought, active in the city since the 1990s. Also to understand how art occupies Kasa, we
describe and analyze several artistic, creative and aesthetic content that occurred at Kasa during this
    research.

  • This research seeks to deal with the district of Dores do Paraibuna, belonging to the municipality of Santos Dumont (MG), flooded in the early 1990s to give way to the expansion of the Chapéu D'Uvas dam, based on the hypothesis that there would be a gap in the collective memory of this group, since there is a constant movement of residents to return to the place. The main objective is to address the relationship established between the population and the memory it has of the place that was compulsorily left behind. For this, and as a possible way to fill this gap, it is proposed to collect and value oral narratives of the remaining residents of the old settlement, seeking to understand their possible losses in the symbolic field. We sought to interview those individuals who were participants in the transposition process and later their descendants, thus seeking a broader view of the change and its impacts. Semi-structured interviews were carried out, in which people were encouraged to share their memories about Antiga Dores, their perceptions of the transfer event and experiences in Nova Dores do Paraibuna. The analyzes were carried out individually based on common reports, seeking to compose a memorialistic picture of Ancient Sorrows. Throughout this process of collecting testimonies, there were themes in which the interviewees presented different points of view, these were also analyzed from the perspective of their different experiences. The main result of this research is the construction of a documentary and historical record, and later a book, which addresses the community of Dores do Paraibuna, which until now did not have anything of this nature.

  • This dissertation analyzes the relationship of public schools in the city of São João del-Rei, MG with the problem of urban waste. It is an action-research that explores the relationships between what is lived inside educational institutions and its developments in the city that surrounds it. If, on the one hand, school institutions have historically reproduced a culture of distancing the human being from nature and stimulate an increasingly accelerated production and disposal logic, which exacerbates the problem of solid waste, on the other hand, the school is also a privileged space for cultural re-elaboration, with an important role in training for citizenship and environmental responsibility. The purpose of this work is to analyze how the school culture of Public Schools of the state education network in the city of São João del-Reiis related to the absence of an effective program of selective collection in the city. It uses Paulo Freire's legacy and studies on educommunication, to think about the interfaces between public policies and educational institutions.

  • This study intends to question the urban landscape of Conselheiro Lafaiete from from the collections throughout the investigative process, carried out, mostly on the streets. The cut chosen, for this research-intervention, was the central area of the city with an approach on the streets Afonso Pena and Dr. Melo Viana, two centuries-old commercial thoroughfares. They have different dynamics of use and a heterogeneous built heritage, however, have a unique and recurrent claim, of investment in infrastructure. The town is booming demographic, with alterations in the physical and social aspects, and in the process of revision of the Master Plan, a tense moment of dispute of medical interests in which the change of protection to immovable property of historical-cultural value if are weakened. This research was established from the theory of Donald Meinig about observation, and developed under the concepts of Milton Santos, Kevin Lynch and José Magnani on urban landscape and heritage history, culminating in Paola's knowledge of experience and narrative Jacques, Jorge Larrosa, Walter Benjamin and João do Rio. academic production is divided into analysis of socioeconomic, historiographical, spatial and assets, and in essay texts, such as “Letters to Regina” and the “Urban Narratives”. The visual production has a Catalog of images and urban designs, as factual records of the Lafaieten scene.

  • The present research has sought to recognize the socio-spatial transformations that occurred from the advent
of the arrival and expansion of photography by photographers and/or portraitists who circulated in Minas
Gerais in the 19th and early 20th centuries, primarily those who recorded Barbacena's, Lavras' and São João
del-Rei's landscape and society, which are micro-regional poles of the Campos das Vertentes mesoregion,
in almost 50 years since the arrival of photography in this region. It seeks to understand how the imagetic
production in this territory impacted the social construction and structuring of collective memory and social
organization. To support this theoretical-methodological study, theoretical references are being researched
on urban issues, memory, Anthropology and/or Sociology of the image, photography and its history. At the
same time, information on itinerant photographers is being crossed, as well as the collection of photographic
images from this period in available collections, which corroborate the understanding of photography and
photographic production in Brazil, Minas Gerais, and specifically in the mesoregion of Campo das
Vertentes of that time. These pioneers of photography coming from different places, when expanding their
activities in this region, brought more than the production and commercialization of portraits, they allowed
photography to be assimilated as a document of reality and to be consumed as an element of a modernity
in process. However, photography is an instrument that communicates and dialogues; it can unveil, “put
light and focus” and contextualize the gazes and the perceptions of this region, contributing to the formation
of memory and places of memory, allowing reflection on the aesthetic, social, cultural, historical, political,
economic and psychological dimensions, and even being able to interfere in the transformation of both the
    landscape and the urban space.

  • This work aims to reflect on the potential of the principles and expanded vision of architecture and urbanism applied to health and sustainable architecture in times of fighting with a pandemic. Due to the depth and complexity of the crisis generated by the COVID-19 pandemic, this study indicates that a health architecture focused on sustainability will be increasingly necessary, being essential for understanding the current crisis and for the search for solutions that will form the basis for new guidelines and public policies and for decision-making. Both health architecture and sustainability are relatively recent concepts that, despite having been initially proposed by the biological and health sciences, were quickly incorporated by other areas of knowledge due to the inter and transdisciplinary possibilities of their principles and foundations. Despite the historical approach showing that, over the course of several epidemics, architecture and urbanism developed control measures, as was the case with the hygienist concepts of modern architecture, with the advent of new medical technologies and medicines, medicine was emancipated from architecture. Currently, the return to architecture and urbanism practices as a means of preventing and controlling epidemics has been an essential tool through observation and application in the most diverse scales of the built environment, in the search for more resilient and sustainable spaces. This work was divided into 7 chapters in which the main concepts will be addressed: Hospital Architecture, Sustainability and Pandemic, in addition to the study of theories and support methodologies for the development of case studies in small and medium-sized hospitals that contributed to the results and final guidelines of the research, which sought to study the relationships between human behavior and the built environment in the search for directions that positively influence people's health and well-being. In view of this, there was an understanding that the construction of the place of healing occurs in the transformation of the space, not only through architecture and urbanism actions, but in partnership with the team of people involved and their transdisciplinary knowledge around the one who needs care, being the interpersonal skills essential for there is no health care service without people.

  • Narrating and analyzing a popcorn cart, which became a museum in 2015, named Muquifoca, was the main path of this dissertation. Through cartography and active participation in the events, this unusual way of exposing collections and memories is studied, which leads the museum beyond its walls, reaching the community and institutions and places outside the same. We analyze the connections that Social Museology encourages, always using the interdisciplinarity as a basis, which allows museums a new format, with freedom of doing and undoing, placing and removing, always giving voice to its interlocutors, with dialogue, worrying about the problems of the territory and its residents, making art, thinking about urbanity and environmental and social sustainability. The possibility of having a museum education, non-formal, which encourages creativity and the acquisition of social awareness, when you can to be critical, questioning the lived reality. The dissertation questions the hegemonic and eurocentric of traditional museums, when researching the possibilities and certainties of the new 21st century museums that are concerned with human beings, their relationships and memories. O popcorn cart museum is innovative, provocative, liberating and becomes important educational and communication device, such as the help of its mediators.

throughout popular history are called “gabirobas”. In that point of view, the fruit is part of the life
trajectory and affective memory of Ritapolitans. To rescue and maintain the cultural identity, which
may be lost due to the consequences of the urbanization process such as: paving, subdivisions, garbage
around woods, among others, the act of preservation of the species is also necessary. Therefore, issues
such as environmental and cultural sustainability create a connection between the rescue of affective

  • This master’s thesis aims to investigate the environmental catastrophe as a possible territory for scenic artistic creation. The research approach starts from my contact with flooding episodes, sociopolitical contextualization of the catastrophic event and two artistic ways. The first way is the possibility of seeing the environmental catastrophe “as” performance based on Richard Schechner's work on “What is performance?”. The second one is the possibility of finding Climate Performative Commons (CPCs) within this event. I also present the traces of the performative show “Corpo a Ruir” in an attempt to exemplify the aforementioned path. The present work seeks to make a significant contribution to the discussion concerning the bodies involved in the catastrophe through art.

  • The present research analyzes the cultural and historical aspects of the musicians of “Largo do Carmo” in São João del-Rei, from the Sacred and Profane phenomenon in the traditional society of São João. It begins with a brief approach to the science of religion in the context of anthropology and history and how sacredness manifests itself in the population through the musicality present in the surroundings of Largo do Carmo, with a spatial cut that includes Praça Carlos Gomes, the Church Nossa Senhora do Carmo, the Carmo cemetery, the Sociedade de Concertos Sinfônicos and Rua da Cachaça. A place that serves as a setting for “beliefs and rituals”, where popular and erudite music groups share the same space, forming a society full of anachronisms that refer to the Baroque period and still remain active in the city’s traditions. The research ends through the plastic production, with the materialization of the creative process in the production of a series of paintings entitled as: “Sacred and profane tones and sounds of Del-Rey inspired by the musical events found both in the liturgical ceremonies of religious sacred musicality and in the pagan music from the bohemian zone. With the hope of achieving good results whose bias works interdisciplinarity in Arts, Urbanities and Sustainability, it is important to establish the relationship between society and the city, which, in a way, is a producer of knowledge. In order to understand how everyday practices and the organization of space in the cultural milieu take place, it is necessary to delimit a field of knowledge and dedicate oneself to observation, because, by producing art and science, we are opening paths for new learning.

  • This study aims to contribute to the expansion of research on the consolidation of educommunication as a research methodology, through fanzine production workshops held in Women's Unit of the Association for the Protection and Assistance to Convicts (APAC), in São João del-Rei, Minas Gerais. For this, it proposes to analyze, in the first instance, the techniques of holding of fanzine production workshops presented in the book Zines no Cárcere (SNO et al, 2020), in order to assess its potential as an educommunicative methodological process. It also seeks to assess the possibility of using educommunicative experiences to stimulate the exercise of autonomy through the transmission and creation of narratives with women in deprivation of liberty. In this way, it is intended to make room for the dialogue, reflection, manual work, creativity and authorship, building a discourse non-institutionalized, from zine workshops developed in a transdisciplinary way in the fields of Arts, Urbanities and Sustainability. Thus, it brings together concepts and authors that dedicated themselves to investigating and proposing the educational and communicative practice as a process emancipatory, with methodologies that carry in their essence the dialogicity, the doing participatory and collaborative in favor of understanding and transforming the reality that is inserted, as well as those that contribute to the formation of a research which is also a counter-hegemonic strategy. Authors such as bell hooks, Freire, Ismar S. Oliveira, Rosane Rosa, Hakim Bey, Seyla Benhabib, Acosta, among others, make up the theoretical-conceptual platform of this research, in the sense of expanding the field of discussion about the liberating praxis, whose pedagogy respects and protects the integrity of the subjects, considering their bodies and contexts. Therefore, this proposal will be made possible following the clues from the cartography method (PASSOS et al, 2015), in collaboration with action research (THIOLLENT, 1998) and participant observation (DEMO, 1995; INGOLD, 2019).

For this, we will cite information inherent to the environmental legislation in force in Brazil, and make a comparison with other regions of the world on the generation of particles; the correct use and treatment, transport, destination and treatment, as well as environmental impacts. How to study the waste from the health units of São João del-Rei: Santa Casa da Misericórdia, Hospital das Mercês and Unidade de Pronto Atendimento (UPA), analyze the types of waste generated by these, and comparing them with other health and urban waste of the micro-region of São João del-Rei. In the methodology, technical visits will be carried out in the field, with qualitative data collection and research with people involved in the processes. The Failure Management and Effect Method (FMEA) will be applied as evaluator of problems found in some situations in the companies. Finally, will be examinaded what is the role of the public management of the municipalities: the Consórcio Intermunicipal de Gestão e Desenvolvimento Ambiental Sustentável (Cigedas Vertentes), Consórcio Intermunicipal de Saúde das Vertentes (Cisver), also the role of Associação dos Catadores de Material Reciclável (Ascas) and NGOs focused on waste in the region, in addition to evaluating the importance of companies with direct contracts with the Municipality of São João del Rei and the health units of city, for the disposal and treatment of waste, such as Serquip and Pró-Ambiental, which are some of the main companies that go through tenders in the region. Will be avaliated which is the best type of final provision for the types received, comparing the reality of dumps, landfills and sanitary landfill, checking the environment how all this can help the environment as a whole for these municipalities, and organizing as ideas to the proposed theme for the Programa Interdepartamental em Interdisciplinaridade em Artes, Urbanidades e Sustentabilidade (Pipaus).

The research is inspired by educommunication practices carried out previously, in a professional, during two years in a Psychiatric Hospital of the SUS, in the west of the state of Sao Paulo. Thus, the intention of this initiative is to use the experience developed as a reference for the construction of a research that involves the creation, experimentation and deepening in the practices that concern educommunication, however, that starts from a critical look at the hospital-centric logic and supported by the ideals of the anti-asylum struggle. Therefore, we will develop the research at the Psychosocial Care Center, an element fundamental for the establishment of the substitutive network to the model of hospitalizations in psychiatric hospitals.

  • Questions about the presence of nature within urban spaces, its absence, its ordered or denaturalized form are some of the researched arguments. A new look at the city, a new way of thinking about its flows, symbols and images, brings the need for a more sensitive and poetic view of spaces, with art and nature being important tools. It is necessary to reconnect to a broader perception where the gaze travels through space connecting images, objects and concepts in an organic and free way. The poetry of the look and nature can re-educate us. The importance of a theoretical and practical analysis, for a more sensitive construction, is necessary to start a more human reality, with respect to the different, in solidarity with the other, and that awakens the awareness of cooperation for a common good, opening a greater path. for transdisciplinary. Connecting these thoughts is a current need, the collective is no longer just human, it has become all the networks that we can create from everything with all living and non-living beings.

  • The change in eating habits in recent decades has impacted people's health and, as a result, Chronic Non-Communicable Conditions have increased every year in Brazil and around the world. Food choice is not a simple process and is the result of several factors, influenced by socioeconomic conditions, changes in families' daily routines, as well as interference from food industry marketing. Increased access to information available on communication networks has had an impact on food choices and consequently on health. Food and Nutritional Education is one of the guidelines of the National School Meals Program, being an important strategy for health promotion. Food and Nutritional Education is one of the guidelines of the National School Meals Program, being an important strategy for health promotion. Taking care of family nutrition requires an awareness that nutrition involves not only biochemical processes, but an entire social, political and economic involvement and food availability, based on the assumption that healthy and adequate nutrition is a right guaranteed by law and that not everyone has access to healthy and safe food from a nutritional and environmentally sustainable point of view. The present work aimed to understand the dietary profile of parents of students in the 5th year of elementary school I at School Sesi Dom Bosco in São João del-Rei/MG, as well as evaluate their knowledge about healthy eating, in addition to identifying which determinants of food choices made by these families. To collect data, a semi-structured questionnaire was applied and 45 parents and/or guardians of the students participated in this research, being a cross-sectional, quantitative study with descriptive quantitative analysis. It was found that the majority of families still maintain a traditional Brazilian diet, including rice and beans, milk, with consumption of one to two fruits per day, and reveals the presence of vegetables in the diet of 84% of these families. All participants describe natural or minimally processed foods as healthy and ultra-processed foods as unhealthy according to the new classification of the Food Guide for the Brazilian Population, but without mentioning issues such as food production methods, agroecological products, as well as affective and cultural values that involve the act of eating. We can conclude that the multidimensional view that involves the act of eating was not mentioned, presupposing a reductionist view of food. The data collected and analyzed serves as support to propose Food and Nutrition Education that goes beyond work at school, also involving parents who are responsible for forming their children's habits.

  • The CATIVA Project intends to develop, in two moments - immaterial and material - an ecopoetic spatiality based on bioconstructive techniques with bamboo in a geodesic pattern, artistically giving the zoomorphic shape of a bird that will be installed on the Tancredo Neves Campus (CTAN) of the Federal University of São João Del-Rei (UFMG) in Minas Gerais. The first moment of the project endorses the mottos of the artist-researcher who, using cartographic autoethnography as a method, seeks to anchor himself in the theme of enclosure as an umbrella to critically question the hegemonic patriarchal system, the forms of production of goods and unsustainable services, the verticalization of spaces in contrast to the innovative ideas of Biodesign. To this end, a bibliographical survey was generated that addresses the interdisciplinary interweaving of concepts about the Origin of Life; of Sacred Geometry; Biomimetics; of the “outlaw” Design created by Richard Buckminster Fuller, as well as its foundations, worldview, philosophy and the contribution of his inventions to humanity. The second moment concerns praxis – bioconstruction and assembly of CATIVA. During this process, the aim is to disseminate ancestral knowledge and techniques using biodegradable organic material: bamboo. It is also intended to stimulate site-specific, artistic, collaborative and environmentally friendly interactions and interventions in an attempt to bring human beings closer to and reconnect with natural environments.

  • In this study, the concept created, Subject Tree, involves the critical analysis of the spaces of rural schools in the public teaching and learning system, in the municipality of Serranos – MG, which we here call Cognitive Territories. Analyzed together, Subject Tree and Cognitive Territory, make up the understanding of the relationship between subjects, territories and natures, this composition we call Corponature. Currently, these rural school spaces are closed and inoperative, or under other uses, as a result of the school nucleation process, from 1996 to the present day. Question: 1. Are these spaces being occupied? If yes, for what purposes? 2. Are there public policies that provide for investment in the maintenance, conservation and expansion of these public facilities in rural areas, and for teaching and learning activities in these locations? How are relations between populations and territories occurring, due to the displacement imposed on rural communities to school in the urban headquarters of the municipality? Who are the subjects of these relationships? Through systematization, ordering and interpretation of data; analyzing the results of experimental actions and artistic interventions, we want to understand how the relationships between governance systems, subjects, territories and cognitive processes occur. The aim is to critically reflect on socio-environmental transformations and their consequences for populations and the territory, on a local scale, and their implications for Nature, on a global scale. The transdisciplinary methodological experimentation based on the tripod: arts, urbanities and sustainability, structures the study as follows: 1. Quali-quantitative research; 2. Bibliographic review; 3. Individual/collective artistic, agroecological and cognitive intervention in a deactivated rural public school space in the municipality of Serranos; 4. Involvement in partnerships for curatorial purposes in art, city, nature, agroecology, philosophy and activism. The theoretical foundation of this study is based on the perspectives of the Amerindian Worldview, the New Latin American Constitutionalism and Good Living. In addition, there are historical, archaeological, geopolitical, ecological, economic, sociocultural, artistic, technological and cognitive perspectives, which contribute to the reflection on what they are: Cognitive Territories and who the Subject Tree is, also dialoguing with ancestry, the sacred, identity and belonging.

  • The central idea is to work the concept of place through the perspective of the place in my city (Ipatinga/MG), and for that I rely on the work of geographer Yi-Fu Tuan, who combines the concept of place with experiences. With the pandemic and the quarantine, traveling was no longer possible, mobility was reduced and so rediscovering the city was a reality for many, including me. For some time now, I have gotten rid of the car and have been commuting by bicycle, and this has resulted in discoveries and new perspectives about the city and my living space. Therefore, one hypothesis is that people's affection for the place ends up causing a change in sustainable behavior, such as protecting the environment and heritage. Through drifts through the city, I tried to bring my memories, my affections, to feel how each place touches me and provokes sensations. I tried to explore the experience, as Larrosa proposes.

  • The present research seeks the poetics and subjectivity of dressing in contemporary artistic practices. The first part of this work involves autobiography, the practice of the Thrift Store and the book “Marx's Coat” by Peter Stallybrass. These three sessions understand dressing not only as a social necessity, but also as a historical and affective place. The objective of this investigation is to observe the poetics and the social life of the things presented in the works of Emily Spivack, Regina Galindo and Christian Boltanski, leading to the reflection of the discard and the implications of understanding dressing as a poetic and historical situation. The course of this search understands that thinking of clothes as an affective space can lead to a more sustainable perception of the use of clothes;

  • This research project explores the cultural landscape of São João del Rei, a city in the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil, with an emphasis on Serra do Lenheiro and its biodiversity. The study aims to understand the relationship between culture, identity and the natural environment, as well as the formation of the cultural landscape through the interaction between a natural landscape and a cultural group. The research examines the concepts of cultural identity and national culture, highlighting their connection with social, cultural and geographic particularities. Memory plays a significant role in the formation of cultural identity, and different groups within a national culture have different memories associated with objects, images, gestures or spaces. To further explore the cultural landscape, the plan is to create new patterns and prints inspired by the morphology of locally collected species. This will involve the study of plant catalogues, on-site visits to environmental preservation areas and the use of design as a tool to enhance local culture and identity. The design process aims to highlight the importance of preserving local identities and cultural expressions. Conservation efforts are crucial to maintaining cultural and biological diversity. By protecting traditional cultural landscapes, it is possible to safeguard both cultural heritage and the environment for future generations. The research seeks to promote the appreciation of Brazilian culture and natural elements, encouraging collective practices and perpetuating memory. In conclusion, this study explores the cultural landscape of São João del Rei and highlights the relationship between culture, identity and the environment. The focus is on the importance of conservation to preserve biological diversity and cultural history, while also aiming to conserve cultural value through the study of native species and the development of new prints influenced by local flora.

  • The purpose of this work is to carry out a critical reflection on coloniality, informed by a reflexive artistic perspective on the possibilities of using the disposal of scrap materials from sawmills in the microregion of São João del-Rei - MG, mainly with sawdust, seeking a mass that can be used in modeling, molding and/or sculpture. I describe memories about personal experiences in the family sawmill and an experience with activist art in the city of São João del-Rei. I also report on the expansion of joinery in the region and what to do with their scrap materials, with sawdust with main target. Exploring the use of sawdust, I did research on the tradition of street rugs and the process of making during Catholic religious festivals. To achieve the goal of developing a mass for modeling and molding, I went to the field and visited a resin imaging factory. I followed the process of casting the images and recorded the procedures. The next steps are, among others, catalog ing the sawmills of the microregion of São João del-Rei, collecting scrap materials, developing the dough, producing art objects, making a virtual catalog and a booklet to distribute to artisans in the region.

  • This work intends to discuss the theme of material cultural heritage of the city of São João del-Rei, highlighting the relevance of modern architecture designed by Jorge Taier. For this, scientific methods will guide the study, using specific systems that will seek to explain the perceptions obtained through observation and reflection over a period of about ten years. In this sense, the inductive process will support the investigation that originates from subjective perceptions, sufficiently verified through local experiences, which infer a truth in the scenario to which they are imposed, but which have not yet been exposed and debated widely. In addition, some bibliographies were of great importance for the debates, such as the theories of Tulio de Oliveira Tortoriello, which helped in the discussion about heritage and history, the studies of André Dangelo, which analyze the territorial evolution of the city in question, the concepts of Paola Jacques, which are potentially capable of broadening the debate on ways of living the city and the considerations of Giulio Argan, which guide contemporary architecture and its relationship with the arts. These studies support the research and strengthen its objective in search of the diffusion of its cultural wealth in a broad and plural way, allowing architecture to serve as a narrative that attests to the historical, political and economic development of the city and its society through the ages. In addition, it explores the understanding of architectural representations as one of the expressions of art that make up the urban landscape and allows the materialization of the relationship between space and body, both in its physical and affective and emotional form, even if unconsciously, contributing to the construction of spaces. relationships of belonging and identification of a society that currently has its characteristics limited to the stereotype determined only by hegemony.

voids, their territorial occupations, and how agroecology is used in urban garden law
projects that focus on sustainability. Any use of fragmented territory, voids in the urban
fabric, generates impacts on the landscape, on the well-being and quality of life of
citizens, these residual spaces have varied potential for uses, which can add to the
economy, and urban food security. There are some public policies and urban planning
that encourage the production of more sustainable spaces in vacant lots, and laws that
help popular claims that demand better planning of the territory with effective
management in cities to become more equitable. Faced with the conflicts between
different agents, in the neoliberal and capitalist context in relation to disputes over urban
territory, there is resilience of the voids in the territory. What are the conditions to resignify
the urban landscape? How to take advantage of the potential of free areas as green
“breaths” for gray and dense cities? Through these reflections, and a case study of similar
law projects for urban gardens in the cities of Varginha and Sete Lagoas, Minas Gerais,

  • Currently, the logic of neoliberal urbanism is strongly present in the way cities are governed, which causes uneven growth and development, evidences and intensifies the polarization of social classes and causes innumerable damage to the environment, reflecting in spaces as injustices of the system . Expensive land has guided and still guides the way in which urban space is occupied, in a process that prioritizes exchange value over use value - according to the concepts of Karl Marx, consolidated in the application for space by Henri Lefebvre (2001) Thus, a series of factors contribute to the affirmation of the ideal of the city in the social imagination, permeated by the modernity and practicality that the system insists on advocating. For the purposes of this research, it is interesting to study Agroecological Urbanism as a subversive alternative for the management and development of cities, contributing to the transition and construction of a new paradigm.

The object of study of the research is subject of observation both of science and of the popular daily life, since the city and the agroecology are apprehended in these two fields. • This work intends to discuss the importance of the cultural heritage of the "Betas do Alto das Mercês" in São João del Rei - MG. Since the formation of the city, it started as a small village and attracted countless explorers who came to the inhospitable lands in search of gold. A historical-bibliographic study is the starting point for the research that seeks to investigate the beginnings of the village and its first inhabitants. When gold, which was found in abundance on the surface, becomes scarce, the search for the precious metal becomes a little more difficult, but not unfeasible. The search for gold between the slopes, the veins between the quartz rocks is the task of those who travel enormous distances in search of wealth. The study is based on the landscape, visible and invisible, formed by layers, easily perceived or not, left as vestiges through the centuries. The emphasis on the perceptible is due to the colonial architecture, such as the Church of Nossa Senhora das Mercês, the limit point between the historic center and Alto das Mercês and the Fortim dos Emboabas. Betas are part of the tangible heritage, but almost invisible due to the erasure of historical importance. It's a legacy that was left in the background, in the background. The intangible heritage is on account of oral history, which is one of the most beautiful and sensitive forms of cultural transmission. It is the story of those who remained, their dreams, fears, passions and disappointments. The engraving comes in as a humble artistic inspiration, an attempt to illustrate small clippings of this story. Through the use of rubber, linoleum, wood and other materials, matrices with naive inspiration were made. There is a desire to invite as a partner the 11th Mountain Infantry Battalion of São João del Rei to try to unravel one of the city's legends: The underground connection between Beta do Fortim dos Emboadas and Igreja do Carmo, in the historic center of the city. . Finally, to present an overview of the works prepared by professors and students of the Federal University of São João del Rei - UFSJ who presented proposals for artistic, cultural, museological intervention, which included topics such as: tourism, art, crafts, in an attempt to promote the development of Alto das Mercês.

  • The investigation comes from a personal nuisance, as a citizen of San Juan, a cyclist - and a pedestrian - of moving

around the city. Hence, studies on mobility and walkability emerged with a focus on urban design, the morphology

of the medium-sized city and its relationship with the rate of traffic accidents1, specifically in São João del Rei. One

of the first questions raised was why the sidewalks are so narrow and occupy such a small strip of the street? There

is room for widening sidewalks and setting up cycle paths, for example, but why is this not done? And yet, because

what is done is the opposite: increase the space for cars at the expense of space for pedestrians and non-motorized

ones? A first bibliographic research points in some directions to seek these answers, as in the relationship between

space and society, capital and politics, involving the whole question about urban formation in the world and in Brazil,

with its specificities and locations. The proposed investigation crosses the concept of Human Scale applied to mobility,

an object to be investigated through urban design - an integral part of the design-planning-management tripod, in

which design is more linked to form, planning to the elaboration of a plan and management to implementation and

maintenance. For this, there is a spatial cutout that covers part of the Matosinhos neighborhood, in the city of São

João del Rei - Minas Gerais. The area draws attention due to the large number of traffic accidents and their consequent

victims, highlighting the need to create and implement a cohesive mobility plan. The first stage, according to the

Municipality of São João del Rei, is already ready and continues in the legislative process, however the document

has not yet been made public and there is no news about it, leaving a vacuum with regard to the theme in City.

• The creation of cities and the increasing expansion of urban areas have contributed to the growth of negative environmental impacts. Customs and habits in the use of water and the production of waste due to the exacerbated consumption of material goods are responsible for most of the changes and environmental impacts. Within this context, physical and biological environmental changes, over time, modify the landscape and compromise ecosystems. In this sense, the city of São João del-Rei/MG produces approximately 120 tons of garbage and waste per day and has great challenges in its proper disposal. From this premise, the proposal of this research is to seek solutions and transformations of waste discarded, inappropriately, into products and services useful to society, in a way that also makes possible the environmental awareness and the development of the local economy, through partnerships with institutions and associations involved in waste collection, as well as through public and private companies in the support and commercialization of these products

  • The senses of perception, relating sound and image, are approached in this research as a transdisciplinary way in arts and in an artistic creative process. Art making within a transdisciplinary approach is, according to Barasab Nicolescu, a “learning in creativity” and as he points out “doing also means discovering new things, bringing to light our creative potential” (1997). The theme that involves creative subjectivity becomes clearer in this research as it finds a basis in the work of Canadian composer and researcher Raymond Murray Schafer and his concept of “soundscape”. He highlights the development of a sensitive perception, better auditory accuracy of ambient sounds and its relationship with sound quality and reception, and the experience in this relationship with creative processes and improvisation. The imagery of Sant'Ana in its iconographic manifestations, Mother, Master and Guide is the clipping that complements the sound and image relationship in this research. For each of Sant’Ana’s iconographies, a set of spatial compositions was produced that can be defined as a set of transdisciplinary artistic creations that relate sound and image, poetry and drawing-score. Elements with dynamic creations and improvisations create effects and sounds along with the soundscape of the scenes inspired by Sant’Ana. The sensitive experience in art thus stands out in this research, which presents itself as a form of contribution to new creative processes, where the refinement of the perception of the senses of hearing and vision can inspire new creative and expressive potentials in the language of contemporary art, in reception and in new approaches to works of sacred art, in their communication between past and future and in rescuing the strength of their timeless artistic presence.

  • Social movements come from decades of struggles for rights and equity. Using a descriptive exploratory case study and content analysis, the actions of four groups were analyzed: Agricultura de Pé no Chão, Coletivo Pirilampo, Cor&Ação and Filhos das Estrelas, all of them from the city of Barbacena, Minas Gerais. Given the scenario of suspention of presential activities, the research was based on actions prior to 2020 and on its social networks. In the first chapter we relate urban movements to concepts such as art, urbanity and sustainability. In the second chapter, the case study was worked on, highlighting and discussing the activities of each group, associating with the highlighted themes. While the third chapter, is based on the analysis of content articulated from the social networks movements, generating qualitative data, which allows a better understanding of their speeches and their practical applicability. Chapter four and the last, can be understood as such, can be understood as such; as agents of transdisciplinary, human and ecological training. Finally, the researcher's vision, her journey to this research theme and her artistic projects arising from this work were articulated. Based on the data and studies conducted, it was possible to reaffirm the extreme need of social movements, in their most diverse possibilities, in the processes of social, environmental and political formation, both in their ideals and actions.

  • The inclusion of school gardens in the urban environment can bring numerous benefits such as contact with the nature, encourage good eating habits and promote environmental education. This research was held at the State School Idalina Horta Galvão, in São João del-Rei - MG, with students from 4th and 5th year of basic schooling. The study aims evaluate how the school space’s transformation into an agroecological garden may lead to environmental learning, food safety and the resignificance of the school grounds. This study was guided by the constructive process of Agroecology, through systemical thinking and transdisciplinarity to bring precepts of sustainable agriculture to the educational scope. The research had a qualitative approach, a participatory methodology of collective work was chosen, through pedagogical workshops. The Methodology Tierra de niñas, niños y jóvenes para el buen vivir (TiNi) was important inspiration, once it acts helping children to understand their role in sustainable development in cities. The techniques applied for data collection were: interviews and questionnaires, field diary and photographs collected through participant observation. Among the achieved results, stand out the followings: the children’s appropriation and sense of belonging of the garden, the increase of the school’s meals with fresh and healthy food, the interpersonal relationships’ improvement during activities, the revitalization of the landscape of different environments in the school and the increase of sustainable agricultural practices. Thus, it is comprehended that the experiences in the agroecological school garden can provide innumerable benefits such as contact with natural spaces, an improvement in school meals and a reflection on our environmental problem.

  • This dissertation argues about the possibilities that the theatrical game provides to transdisciplinary work, having as framework the sustainability, urbanity and decolonity using the perspectives of reflection and putting oneself in the other's place that, often, the art of scene provides. It is believed that the game enables the strengthening of the involved people identities in regard to urban space, to communitary sense, to exaltation of their individual and local culture and to the reflection about their place in society, elements that are often silenced by the survival process whether in the community or inside prisional system. The place where the research was carried out, the State School
Detective Marco Antônio de Souza, is a formal educational space turned to young people and adults deprived of their liberty and the purpose of this study was to carry out and discuss with them how theatrical game can articulate debates about arts, urbanities, sustainability and decolonity by individuals deprived of their liberty, through a workshop/experience proposal that respects the student's culture and makes them to reflect about society, how it is formed and the colonial motives in it that led them to have their freedom curtailed. In view of the problems arising from the research, which led it to undergo several changes and, considering that the methodology used  was cartographic, we present here cartographically, the affections and perceptions of the mishaps that led us to present the proposal to which we arrived.

  • This work seeks to study a project of an Interactive Environment entitled “Renda-se ao Alto das Mercês” held in Fortim dos Emboabas, São João del-Rei / MG. It aims to investigate how the activation of urban spaces — performed through interactive art — can contribute to social sustainability. It seeks to analyze how these environments can be used as a tool for promoting social dialogue and to evaluate the socio-spatial implications that emerge from the creative appropriation of these environments. This research fits into the paradigm of complexity, as it addresses various fields of knowledge and considers that is necessary to establish a transdisciplinary vision that crosses them. Therefore, articulations between art, urbanism and technology are developed, covering themes related to computing, game theory, cybernetics, artistic processes, among others. In this context, it is observed that the game is a fundamental basis for establishing processes of interaction and knowledge articulation, enabling the active participation of the user and allowing the appropriation of public spaces in new ways. Within the tools of Research by Design, the methodological procedure adopted for this work, an artistic practice is accepted as a research tool aiming at social transformation through dialogue and considering Interactive Environments in urban spaces as a powerful communication channel since its collective creation.

  • This research concerns an agroecological community garden, made by women, in the city of Santa Cruz de Minas - MG, named Nossa Horta. The general goal of this research was to observe the transformations that this project produces in the environment in which it is inserted and in the women who participate in it. A theoretical, bibliographic and documentary research was carried out on the theoretical components present in the garden, which explores the concepts: gender inequality, female empowerment, feminism, ecofeminism, Agroecology and urban agriculture, as theoretical and practical frameworks capable of promoting environmental and social regeneration.
From interviews, documentary research and participant observation, was conducted an analysis of Nossa Horta under different aspects related to theoretical research. Four practical experiences offered by the author to the project members during the research, related to the themes of female empowerment and environmental awareness, were included and described here. This research identified that Nossa Horta collaborates for the social well-being of the community in which it operates and positively impacts the urban environment, constituting a channel to promote female empowerment and environmental awareness of the people involved. This work demonstrates that Nossa Horta is an action with political force, which deserves to be reproduced in other places and contexts. This socio-environmental project is a local initiative that presents solutions to global problems and, in order to have continuity, it must be thought of as a public policy.

  • There is frequent discussion involving the conservation of Natural Areas and the environmental conflicts arising from this process. The concern with preserving and conserving natural resources has intensified as a result of the way society has acted inconsequentially in these areas, mainly due to urban pressure, the disordered production of waste, agricultural activities, mining and deforestation. Given the above, the focus of the research was to assess how the SNUC (National System for the Conservation of Nature) has guaranteed the rights and social justice of traditional peoples, ensuring the maintenance of their sociocultural identity, in addition to exercising its elementary purpose: protect these natural areas, which are considered strategic for nature conservation. In order to carry out the research, it was necessary to use the database of environmental conflicts provided by GESTA (UFMG Study Group on Environmental Issues), which directly contributed to the construction of tables that facilitated the analysis in order to understand whether the SNUC corroborates or not to minimize socio-environmental conflicts linked to the creation of Conservation Units. What was found after the research is that the conflicts listed by GESTA could have been avoided had the legislation been applied correctly, that is: SNUC is in compliance with current demand, and is still the best tool for preservation / nature conservation. In addition, the present research listed the important historical milestones that contributed to the creation of the current legislation (SNUC) and analyzed its assumptions and the existing amount of areas destined to the preservation / conservation of environmental areas in the state of Minas Gerais in comparison with the country , thus highlighting the conservation of existing biomes in the region. After conducting the research and raising discussions about the observed conflicts, it was possible to report an experience lived by the author in the Tapajós-Arapiuns Extractive Reserve in the state of Pará, in which a quantitative research was carried out through a questionnaire with the local people, who helped in the understanding of the way of life of traditional peoples who remain in these preserved areas.

For this, the artist resorts not only to his poetic reading of the world contained in proposed concept, but also the methodology of cartography and intellectuals as Walter Benjamin, Giorgio Agamben, Buyng Chul-Han, Andre Gorz, Gilles Lipovetsky, Jean Serroy, Ailton Krenak among others. Drawing a parallel like that with his poetics, the experiences in the city that welcomes him and a philosophical thought.

  • The ringing of the bells and the bells craft in Minas Gerais are traditional cultural manifestations registered in the Book of Registration of Forms of Expression of the National Historical and Artistic Heritage Institute (IPHAN), since 2009. These practices, linked to the communicational, religious and festive activity, persist vigorously in São João del-Rei and characterize its soundscape, making it known as “City of Bells”. However, due the current scenario of technological advances, interferences in this traditional expression can catalyze mutations or even result in significant losses. In this way, it is sought, through the understanding of the contours assumed by the sound of the bell today, to use it as a starting point for two actions that use ubiquitous technologies to produce, reproduce and diffuse meanings about these cultural goods. They are: an artistic installation and an colletion website. Methodologically, a research is divided into: bibliographic research, field recordings and production of practical activities. It is expected that the work will be able to promote values of the bell culture by using technological tools that contribute to its obsolescence, paradoxically and potentially.

  • This thesis proposed a theoretical, practical and artistic reflection about the relationship between Art and Mental Health. It sought, through an affective cartographic exercise, to present the work with expressive activities carried out by CAPS-I Bernardo Teixeira Amorim. During the fieldwork in this institution, a range of important data was collected, through semi-structured interviews and participant observation, in order to think how the Arts have been inserted in the context of Mental Health. As an observation parameter, we took the work developed by Nise da Silveira, who brings elements of a construction process of a practice based on expression, freedom and affection. Her concept of "catalyzing affection" was of great importance for the understanding of the data obtained in the field and for conducting the artistic process. Besides this important affective element for the creation, we used as aesthetic references the Bosch’s Nau dos Loucos, found in Foucault’s History of Madness; the painting A Barca do Sol, by Carlos Pertuis, presented in Imagens do Inconsciente, by Nise da Silveira; and one of the boats by Arthur Bispo do Rosário, found in a photograph at the exhibition A alguns Centímetros do Chão. The process of artistic creation is closely related to the theoretical work reviewed in the text and vice-versa, as an experiment inspired by a cartography guided by affections (DELEUZE and GUATTARI). The work confirms the need to seek creativity as an element for construction of a humanized Mental Health policy, with care conceived in a broadened form, with emphasis on interdisciplinarity and transdisciplinarity in the construction of dialogues in the educational field and in the formation of new professionals, psychologists, artists and others, more sensitive, human and creative.

  • The research aims to map the affections evoked in meetings promoted in a teaching internship, understanding the factors that guide the actions of planners-educators. When mapping the affections of the researcher that connect the territory, which is contemplated by living, physical components and historical memory in public squares in the city of São João del-Rei, there was the participation of several social actors, all of whom are regarded as planners- educators: students enrolled in the discipline and the passerby population, as well as residents of the neighborhood and the homeless. When mapping affections, it was also intended to glimpse the daily experience in urban micro-contexts, by perceiving the movements that make up these multiple bodies in the territories, thus understanding the views and meanings of the territories with the population involved. The methodology starts from the schizoanalytic cartography of Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari, where rhizomatically it was used photographic records, field diary, unstructured dialogues, joint composition of maps and making of materially artistic products. It was estimated to record the way of living prior to the pandemic of the new coronavirus in 2020, exposing affections as a way to also expose inequalities and the built art of the homeless population, making them explicit as active social actors.

  • The relationship between popular festivals and the city is crucial for the development and

constitution of social, subjective and urban relations. In Brazil, carnival represents a national

rite. Starting from a provocation in the Deluzian way: “what can a carnival block?”; and

understanding this carnival block as a device of popular culture accupying a specific space in

the city; the Chagas Dória Train Station, a disabled train station in the city of São João del-Rei,

MG, was used in that sense. This empty space was a platform for the activities of the block.

Between 2017 and 2020, several workshops, rehearsals and carnival performances were held.

In this process, a block identity was created and transmitted, mainly through traditional

Brazilian musical rhythms, also through the choice of repertoires, instruments, visual identities,

arts and strategies for dissemination through social networks. This process will be narrated and

understood here using the affective cartography´s features, understanding the political nature

of cultural resistance through the occupation of space and the teaching of traditional rhythms.

It was sought to look at non-linear connections, multiplicities and ruptures in this process,

    through a rhizomatic bias.

  • The purpose of this research is to investigate the effectiveness of the Theater as an
educational practice and tool integrated with the Adult Literacy Method, by the educator
Paulo Freire, in order to bring learning closer to the student's reality, make classes more
dynamic and, consequently, reduce school dropout. As a methodology, the study predicts the
application of the method that proposes learning through culture circles, based on the student's
life experience. In this proposal, the vocabulary survey is made, the so-called generating
words are identified and, from them, the students form other words. To this end, students are
encouraged to create short scenes about their daily life and their life histories, so that, from
them, the educator selects the generating words, based on the experiences of each student. In
line with the precepts of The Educommunication and dialogism of Paulo Freire, this research
is based on the need to enable dialogue, relationship and understanding between educators
and students, especially because it considers that it is not productive to limit the richness of
human life to a ready and universal formula. Therefore, the methodology used here is based
on the theatrical game, taking advantage and valuing the life baggage of each student in the
    literacy process.

  • Mining in Brazil is based on a primary-exporting, capital-intensive model that, despite enabling socioeconomic development, concentrates profits and generates great impacts, including vulnerability and economic enclave, especially in mining municipalities. It is necessary to be aware that mineral reserves are exhaustible and considerably impacted by externalities, temporalities and market fluctuations. Therefore, it is important to understand and think of strategies to minimize activity dependence. The State, its spaces and instruments are the most efficient and viable way to protect communities, territories and society from the unsustainable exploitation of natural resources. It is through it that it is possible to promote local sustainable development, ensure the legality of the process, resolve conflicts, distribute benefits and safeguard rights, so that society can exercise autonomy in their territories. This study focuses on the iron ore extractive industry, mainly in the state of Minas Gerais, in the Iron Quadrangle (IQ) region. An analysis is carried out on the public policies applied to mining at the three levels of power, municipal, state and federal. At the municipal level, the object of study is the city of Itabirito-MG, a municipality of great importance in the IQ region. The objective is to discuss the importance and possibility of popular participation through edu-communicative practices, in order to contribute to the management of public policies, enabling populations to play a greater role in the communities. The case study of this work analyzes Itabirito socioeconomically and deepens the situation of its district, São Gonçalo do Bação, which has been going through conflicts related to mining in its territory. The data sources for this analysis were in-depth semi-structured interviews and the experience of the Bação Sustentável group. The practical project uses the principles of edu-communication to build and conduct practices in a digital environment, which aims to raise a critical awareness in the community about the impacts of mining in the region and about the possibility of sustainable development disconnected from the mining activity, as an alternative to make the place less dependent on it, and in order to promote social transformation. From the theoretical foundation presented and the data analysis, it is concluded that edu-communicative practices by digital means can help in the management of public policies, and mainly, can foster social movements in favor of sustainable practices and experiences, which help the populations of mining areas in situations of activity dependence.

  • The phenomenon of urban occupations is closely related to the territory. Social struggles over a territory are not a new phenomenon, having their core in the inequality arising from the mismanagement of territorial distribution since Brazil Colony. Social struggles involving the theme are sometimes devalued, criminalized and reduced, even in the face of visible inequalities in cities. Consequently, this research aims to briefly analyze the Brazilian territorial occupation, pointing out possible legislative affirmations of a white patriarchal policy. This analysis was carried out, primarily, through the combination of legal diplomas that propelled the territorial occupation in Brazil Colony and through the analysis of constitutional diplomas from 1824 to the current Constitution, linking them to the historical facts that propelled the territorial occupation and had repercussions in urban planning. It was found that despite the constitutional and infra-constitutional provisions of precepts to be established in urban housing policies, these are frequently violated due to the real estate market. And housing movements are based on three fundamental precepts: the fight against evictions and removals, land regularization, housing improvement, and the production of social interest housing. All these issues are affected by other rights such as health, environment, basic sanitation, among others.

  • The research investigates the creation of the Max Guedes Cultural Center (CMAX) and its museum centers. We also intend to verify how the residents of your neighborhood are represented in these cultural spaces. The study of museological spaces allows a relationship to be drawn with social museology and activist museums through the preservation of the lived space, the recording of the experiences shared by the members of a certain community and the place delimited by well-defined borders that also demarcate identities. For the development of the work, we make use of different methodological strategies and use patchwork and cartography as prisms for analysis and interpretation of the data produced.

  • At the margin of the margin are places like Santa Cruz de Minas, and Dogtown in Santa Monica, California. But what do these places have in common? Abandoned pools and a series of interventions that modify and resignify the city's idle spaces based on urban culture, mobilized especially by the social group of skateboarders. And this socio-spatial transformation has characteristics that can be analyzed and better understood with the contribution of Deleuze and Guattari (2011), especially with complexity and rhizomes, which will guide us through a cartography of skateboarding through forgotten places. Within this street perspective, we will also pay attention to the action of urban artists, such as graffiti artists, pixadores, jugglers, and several other modalities that occupy the spaces outside the galleries and show houses. This is because they reveal a symbolic appropriation that reassembles, through images and bodily performances, facts forgotten in the overlapping of historical layers existing in these places. However, before an immersion in the interventions described, it is important to contextualize historical issues that occurred in the formation of the identity of santacruzenses and skaters as a social group, which will be done in Chapter 1 below.

  • The development of tourism in Tiradentes, Minas Gerais, has promoted significant changes in
the urban space and the socio-spatial relations of the local population. This paper, therefore,
proposes to analyze these modifications through the educational photographic experiences
developed with students from public secondary schools, in an inter/transdisciplinary way, in
the fields of arts, urbanities, and sustainability. These experiences are the object of the research

study in focus, which general objective is to contribute to the deepening of the critical-
appreciative apparatus of the local population of Tiradentes, through the development of

photographic experiences as communicative educational practices. The corpus of analysis is
then composed of the activities in which the photography acts as a driver of the valorization of
the regional culture, as well as the development of critical awareness of those involved, after
the gentrification processes triggered by the revitalization and the tourist exploration of the
Historic Center. To this end, five experiences were carried out, namely: affective cartography
consisting of the production of affective maps of the city; semi-structured interview consisting
of a questionnaire to obtain information about personal data and student requests; a workshop
on introduction to photography techniques; educommunicative photographic practices made
possible through a workshop on the use of the semiprofessional camera; and a photographic
tour of the city to produce images. These actions enabled the collection of the data to be
analyzed, as well as the production of images for a photographic exhibition, fostering debates
in the classroom. The methodology applied for the analysis of the experiences involved with the

students was the affective cartography. The paper also presents a review of the theoretical-
conceptual literature that underlies the analysis of the proposal.

  • Parallel to the economic, social and environmental crisis, education is also undergoing transformations and new teaching and learning paradigms are emerging to propose faster, more flexible, open and participatory access to knowledge. The possibility of integrating knowledge and experiences in an interdisciplinary approach points to a new challenge for the school; that of sensitizing and mobilizing the teaching staff and students towards a methodology that promotes interconnections and complementarities between the various ways of seeing, interpreting and acting in the world. Art, with its different languages, suggests possibilities for this integration of knowledge; the school becomes a privileged space for the construction of learning. The student can, through art, understand his relations with himself, with the other and with the world, to participate and to intervene creatively in him.

  • The general objective of this thesis was to evaluate the contribution of the Granjinha Escolar experience to the Well Being of the students of the João Pio Municipal School, located in the Águas Santas neighborhood, in the city of Tiradentes. Considered an educommunicative and transdisciplinary experience, Granjinha Escolar is an area of the school intended for the cultivation of vegetables for own consumption, ornamental plants, such as flowers, to be sold, in addition to unconventional food plants and medicinal herbs for the preparation of herbal medicines. Cartographic intervention and data collection through participant observation were the methodologies used to describe the experience of the school garden and the knowledge involved in this practice, to identify consumption habits related to the students' food routine, according to the lunch served at the institution, and to relate the experience of the school garden with preventive health. The signs related to the change in quality of life were, thus, mapped, based on the studies by Paulo Freire, Ismar Soares, D’Ambrosio, and Helena Antipoff.

  • Appreciation of the landscape. Observation of the city in the light of studies by urban planners, critical theorists and art historians. The decadence of experience figured in the transience of aesthetics and its inherence in modernity. The receptivity of postmodern forms of production in cities. The discontinuity of the notion of transience in formation, both of its immediate society and of its own subject, implicated in the materiality that is left to history, which is urban. Criticism occurs through its landscape, from where the corrosive phenomenon of capitalism could reveal itself in small cities. This work is in the direction of the modern invasion and the decadence of the experience, fixed in the literalness between the historical and the contemporary. The city sometimes as a work, always as an object, an evidence stuck in time, of the community and the individual. Here is the exercise of a dialectic, in questioning a totalizing subjectivity, in which urbanism is already being harmed, as it moves away from its objective character, through the positivist, hard nature, with some openness through the empirical and impartial ways of art technique. In this way, reflecting on the natural transience of the cities, the city of Resende Costa, Minas Gerais will be more closely observed, resulting in a production of theoretical discussions crossed by photographic breaks. The aim is to understand, in this language of things, common meanings for the inner cities that still try to understand each other with a different time than yours.

Venerable Third Order of Carmo, of São João del-Rei - VOTC, the social profile of its
membership, finding who and what each member was, and their relations with the
community. The research intends to demonstrate how this social structure presents
itself in terms of its relationship with the arts, urbanities and sustainability, areas of
our Graduate Programa at UFSJ, PIPAUS. Firstly, the studies would deal with
documental and bibliographic research, but in the first contact with the Order's
documentary collection, it was found that its state of conservation would require
immediate intervention and, through Labdoc - UFSJ, the process of disinfection,
sanitization and subsequent isolation was initiated. This process itself became part of
the scope of the dissertation, as well as the photographs made of a number of the
documents, which were fundamental for the documental analysis that followed, all
this linked to an even greater concern about the conservation of the historical and
    cultural heritage of the region.

This meditative process takes place through cosmopoetic essays, meditative works and body-space records. In addition to instructions for meditative reading with one of the artistic products of the dissertation with a reinterpretation of Shiva in the work “Resquices of corpoespaçotempo”, from Mostra Vestígios, artistic exhibition held by the students of PIPAUS (Interdepartmental Graduate Program in Arts, Urbanities and Sustainability). Photo poetic essays that capture the aura and movement of practices with the aim of sensitizing the eye. Sensitization through the perception of life while performing various rituals. This dissertation permeated by the experience in arts, urbanities and sustainability, presents the relationship between Brazil and India; a history of Yoga in a timeline, investigations of when and how it reaches the West, more specifically from the point of view of Shivam Yoga (rescue of Traditional Indian Yoga); the context of Ayurveda, culture of knowledge of life, the practice of Indian massage therapy treated as choreography in artistic and ritualistic processes, and the combined sequence of asanas (positions of unlocking and self-perception) in choreographic movements; Hindu myths that relate to the teachings of Yoga and the author's experiences. In mythology, Shiva is considered the creator of Yoga. One of the cosmopoetic essays is about Shiva's teachings to stars, plants and animals, associated with philosophical and mythological issues. The dissertation proposes a study on the deities of the hindu pantheon and a rereading of them, bringing them to the present moment and recognizing their strengths through the encounter with instructors, who in this cosmopoetic essay are articulated with the ethical code of Yoga, Yamas and Niyamas, and its relationship with cities and their urbanities. This dissertation was made seeking to offer the reader a reading that is a meditative work as a whole. Reflections and practices that seek to connect ancestry to contemporary times. This work has 108 pages as the Japamala (meditation tool) has 108 accounts. Meditate.

  • Humanity and its subjects have always been influenced by their space and time, which in the midst of their own thoughts reflect this relation of existence in the social context, producing memories that, historically, are subdivided into layers. Among the various spheres that space, time and memory generate is the relation of man to his creativity and his creative processes, and once this individual inhabits the city, his relation of space and time becomes a social relation urban, which can be reflected and distributed by the city in the form of ephemeral record, either through artistic insertions, urban interventions or photographic records of them. In this aspect, this research deals with how aspects of space (1), time (2) and memory (3) contribute to the constitution of creative processes of urbanography and collective creativity, focusing on studies that involve layers of memory of the city of São João del-Rei. 1. space is understood as the place where works of art are or are performed, and how this space interferes with creative insights; 2. how time is understood the historical and temporal context in the constitution of such works, which may or may not be ephemeral, just as they relate to contemporaneity in the digital world, and 3. as memory, the record that the individual is the artist or connoisseur leaves in space, which goes against the historical layers (time) analyzed in this research, another important aspect addressed are the relationships existing in this increasingly ubiquitous memory in the digital scope of cyberspace and contemporaneity. Parallels of different artistic productions were therefore drawn, with a greater emphasis on urbanography interventions in São João del-Rei, in which graffiti and urbanographic interventions were analyzed, comparing visual characteristics with other Brazilian cities. The research methodology used is qualitative research, since it involves visual analysis and ethnographic inroads of drift through the city, as well as some experiments of artistic productions in the field of photography and audiovisual, which encompass aspects of interaction and creative insights originating from characteristics as a result, a framework for a contemporary analysis of man's relationship with his space, time and memory.

  • The research presents an affective cartography in existential territories broached in Yoga classes of the Yoga For All project at the Federal University of São João del Rei (UFSJ). It is a relational map that seeks to understand how affects are present in the bodies of students and instructors involved in the classes, considering the relationship and influences with space. Through a reading of Satchidananda, Saraswati, Motoyama, Deleuze, Guattari, Ronilk, Rabelo, Kastrup, Bedin, among others, this dissertation brings information about Yoga, limited to what is pertinent to research given the extent and depth of knowledge of this science, and seeks to produce knowledge about the body and its power to be affected, initiated by questions inspired by Espinosa, and the relations of this body with the public space. The records made in cartography are affective compositions in order to make sensitive the experiences that the project facilitated. Like the yoga classes, the becomings in the photographs, the interviews started from a semi-structured script, the subjective rescue of the memory of space and the body of the Yoga For All project. After this work, it was possible to understand the network of interactions that the Yoga For All project manifested, how the connections, the agency components, the possible crossings of the place, and the affects were formed. In the process also appeared the expansion powers and the need to occupy other territories. There were escape lines and deterritorializations. In addition, instigated by the texts and theses studied, I developed critical reflection skills, affective observation and increased perception of the need for sustainable micropolitical actions. With the progress of the research I realized that the practice of Yoga, as a singularization device, can be a fissure in the modeling system of ways of existing, as it is a way, among others, that contributes to the formation of fully healthy, balanced and autonomous people. With consciousness it awakens to itself and its surroundings, capable of modifying and enhancing their actions in the world.

  • The emptying of social space and the consolidation of spaces of consumption points to a city as an object of a double meaning analysis: place of consumption or consumption of place? The aim of this study is to characterize the resignification of the urban spaces in São João del-Rei, specifically of the Marechal Bitencourt Street, and analyze the local social dynamics and its relationship with the city's materiality, seeking for an understanding of how these processes can be reflected on a global scale. Here, it is discussed the (re)production of space, incorporating questions that originate in the analyzed context, in order to understand how the resignification of a certain spatiality contributes to the urban consolidation dynamics of small and medium-sized cities. In order to achieve that goal, the general methodology is based on Henri Lefebvre's Regressive-Progressive Method. In this discussion, São João del-Rei, despite demonstrating a still incipient process of the phenomenon of street merchandization and functionalization, being a city in which there is still a certain volume of people in its public spaces, a critical look at its socio-spatial dynamics already shows a potentialization of its value of exchange, mainly in its Historic Center, notably through tourism. The paths traveled point to the city as a relational process, in which the street is both an instrument and an object of consumption. Therefore, the main discussion of this research was latent in the way that reinventions, or resignifications, sometimes overlap local traditions and its identity, in search of a new value and a new image.

  • The present study entitled “Labor (D) dwarfs: performative laboratories in Brazilian popular dance” aimed to observe, reflect and analyze the intrinsic performativity in the rituals of the Congado and the Folias de Reis and the Divino, in order to stimulate the creative process. of the performer (researcher). The methodology approached was qualitative and the method was cartography, based on the concept of Kastrup and Ferracini. The available methodological resources were in dialogue with the concepts of rhizome (Deleuze and Guatarri) and somatic, they materialized with the records of photos, videos and semi-structured interviews. With the development of the somatic-rhizomatic cartography of the festivals, the performance laboratories entitled Labor (D) dwarfs were stimulated, they were held in the cities of Diamantina, located in the Jequitinhonha Valley region of Minas Gerais, in the Vila Operária neighborhood and, in São João Del Rei, located in Campo das Vertentes in Minas Gerais, in the Tancredo de Almeida Neves Housing Estate, popularly known as INOCOOP. • Globalization, seen as a systemic phenomenon, englobes many dualities. One of them, the relation between spectacularization and democratization, is approached in a dialectic way in this research. This study aims to understand how this dichotomy presents itself in cultural projects and actions in the urban space. This discussion is permeated by the analysis of the Baixo Centro, a region of Belo Horizonte (MG), in Brazil. The space is occupied by a variety of cultural manifestations that have been attracting the government’s interest in the sense of culture-related investments. In this conjuncture, different questions emerge about the projects and the various ways of coexisting in public spaces. In order to understand this dynamic, this research discusses elements related to Brazil’s cultural and urban formation, in which domination and segregation structures are seen since the colonial period. This enables to support the discussion about the spectacularization of life, and more specifically, of Brazilian cities, as well as the possibilities of democratic change in this context. The Baixo Centro is discussed from this perspective, englobing its historical context and current dynamics, where different interest groups propose several uses for the region, using the implementation of cultural projects and actions as a way of transforming the urban environment. The dispute seen in the spot is then analyzed from the perspective of the spectacularization-democratization dichotomy. This analysis is permeated by a photographic counter-narrative, built from walking through the region, proposing to contrast theory and reality, approaching them. This photographic work intends to present an "inside view” of the researched object, suggesting its perception through a non-spectacular perspective.

  • This project will be developed as a dissertation, part of the Interdepartmental Interdisciplinary Graduate
Program in Arts, Urbanism and Sustainability of the Universidade Federal de São João del-Rei. The research will
examine the material and immaterial benefits achieved by the women who participate in a community garden
in São João del-Rei, Minas Gerais. The production of vegetables for subsistence and/or commercialization is
classified as a material benefit, while the simbolic empowerment obtained as a colective identity, along with
social protagonism and civic responsability are considered an important immaterial gain. This project also aims
to analyze the impact of the community garden in the relationship between the participants and the urban
areas, while repurposing these otherwise unused locations. Furthermore, we aim to examine the profiles and
proactive characteristics of the women involved in the garden, to identify the self-regulating aspects and
    reasoning that guide this entrepreneurship.

  • This research conducted a reflective exercise, approaching the religiosity of a community, a group of 14 performers of the Folia de Reis, from the city of Carlos Chagas, in the region of Vale do Mucuri, Minas Gerais State, Brazil. The intention was to reflect upon the cultural transformations this group underwent after dislocating from the rural areas to the city. To this end, we conducted a qualitative research of ethnographic nature. Participant observation techniques and semi-structured interviews were used to understand the historical and cultural elements present in this cultural manifestation. It was possible to see how this practice sustains relationships, and how ethnic / cultural diversity characterizes this region and its vulnerability to the Technologization of Culture process, in the context of constitution of contemporary cities. The observation demonstrated that the Folia ritual acts as an articulating mechanism of elements, practices, knowledge, senses and meanings, which refer to the existence of a group and its uniqueness. And, in order to fully understand this singularity, it was necessary to have direct contact with the community, which enabled a resignification of the role of the researcher, materialized by means of action research, mobilization of cultural agents, and continuous reformulation of local cultural networks.

  • This research starts from the hypothesis that the representation of the female body in the
Namoradeiras dolls carries a vestige of a conservative and submissive behavior of the society
of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, which subliminally suggests that the
women’s role is associated to houseworks. The objective is to make a series of 19 ceramic busts
of contemporary women that are relevant to the breaking of paradigms in the current scenario
like as a critical analogy to the discourse that permeates the feminine’s role in the Namoradeiras.
Although it may seem like a naive craft, I believe that Namoradeira show an ideal of conduct
that doesn’t contribute to gender equity, naturalizing the exclusion of women from the public
sphere and contributing to a culture of social and cultural unsustainability. In this paper I will
study the categories of domination to which women and everything related to the feminine are
subjected, which also includes disrespect for planet Earth. Thus, the present study aims to
question the discourse of submission implicit in the representations of the female body of the
referred handmade comparing it with the premises that naturalize aggression to environment.

  • Talking about abandonment involves traversing several layers of constantly sedimented territories. A movement that doesn’t leave to grow since, make up both the physicality and the subjectivities of our cities.

Cities are in constant movement - of information, network, capital, and relationships - that produce and transform urban space. While the city is constituted as a living organism, the abandonments produce a certain lethargy.

Abandonment appears as an investigative process in this research, in its various approaches of relations, urban, social, economic, political, cultural and ecological. The paradox between empty of use and creative liberty structures the writing of this research.

The whole discussion is crossed by the scales of cities, sometimes from the metropolises, sometimes from small and medium cities, investigating the dialectic between revitalization and appropriation present in abandonment. The analysis of the ruins of Frigorifico Santa Cruz Ltda., in Santa Cruz de Minas city, explore your physical structure and your cultural territory of differentt appropriations.

Discover capacity in abandonment materializes possible urban imaginary enable by actions. Actions that happens spontaneously and approximate to the local in serach of alternative cultures and subscribe to urban and cultural sustainability.

Pela Greta, it’s a proposal of critical reading of the spaces of the city, which approach art as a extend of urban dynamics. Understanding abandonment as a socially process in the production of the cities and in the relations between nature and culture, show the complexity of the topics we will investigate.

  • This paper aims to deepen the study about the urban management, analyzing its environmental approach and how the mechanisms proposed in the legislation can be applied in cities, and if they are in fact accessible and relevant. It is also intended to contribute to the study of how the legislation can guide and favor the thermal comfort and the urban landscape, as well as the affective urban belonging, besides identifying the problems in the management of public spaces and social relations with the natural environment, inherited from a hegemonic relationship. The research consists of a bibliographical study about the urbanism, the formation of green areas in Brazil, the thermal and visual comfort, the importance of green public areas, the urban management mechanisms present in Brazilian legislation and the relationship between human beings and nature. analyzing it as a form of art and resistance. Subsequently, was done a critical analysis of the legislation and how it affects the conditioning of green public spaces and the relationship of urban affective belonging, as well as a survey of thermal and aesthetic data of public places determined in the city of Conselheiro Lafaiete, Minas Gerais State, was carried out, in order to deepen and exemplify the ideas discussed throughout the research. The city of Conselheiro Lafaiete has legislation that acts poorly, which is directly reflected in the thermal comfort and aesthetic potential of the city, even if there is a certain degree of urban affective belonging. Brazilian urban landscapes suffered external influence, which modifies and conditions urban spaces, even though they have a different reality from that found abroad. Attempts to control the natural environment directly affect the green public spaces of cities, endangering urban quality and the feeling of affective belonging, as well as social issues such as the right to the city. Thus, analyzing green public spaces is a way of analyzing social policies and individual and collective rights. The study of urban green management is a way of reframing the relationship between the human being and the environment they inhabit, and should be guided by interdisciplinarity, where the self sees itself as the environment itself. Such a study may be favored by art, which plays a fundamental role in the awareness and dissemination of decolonial ideas, encompassing different theories, practices and worldviews, which contribute to the formation of beings and, consequently, to the formation of cities.

  • The present work studies the peculiar handicraft activity of manual weaving of Resende Costa-MG, considering approaches that permeate its traditional configurations, as well as its current conditions, based on the growth of the handicraft market. According to historical data, the activity came to the municipality through the Portuguese, who came to reside in the region in the eighteenth century, and spread among the women of the time. With the knowledge passing through the generations, this tradition of textile production gradually developed, expanding its demands and becoming a source of income for the majority of its residents. Thus, over the years, in order to keep pace with this growth that permeated the market, several innovations were required in the manufacturing process. Some of them considered inevitable and necessary, others that deeply compromised the originality of the pieces to be sold. Due to several factors, part of the traditional process of handmade weaving has been left behind, reducing the artistic richness of the products. Most of the artisans focused on repetition and profit, simplifying the composition of the pieces and discarding the “repassos” 2, more complex execution sayings and used by the first weavers of the city. Therefore, the main objective of this work is the recognition of the traditional technique of manual weaving, considering the characteristics of its complete process, as an inductive source of the creative process of the current resendecostense craftsman. It is believed that this action will bring more awareness of its inhabitants in relation to the valorization of the technique and its importance as an intangible asset of the municipality studied. The research in question presents a case study that, through interviews and other surveys in some municipal public institutions, has carefully analyzed current conditions, seeking proposals that are consistent with social reality and that are able to reconcile tradition and innovation within the market weaving. Taking into account the complexity and breadth of the theme, with respect to its social, artistic and economic character, it can be affirmed that this content was pertinent in relation to the transdisciplinarity, since it embraced several approaches on art, sustainability and urbanity.

  • The Poetics of the Skins is a proposal of sensible action through the Contact Improvisation in dialogue with the Five Skins (Epidermis, Clothing, House, Social Environment, Global Environment) proposed by Friedensreich Hundertwasser aiming at an interweaving of the areas of knowledge in Art, Urbanity and Sustainability in a transdisciplinary perspective. The starting point is the dialogue of the epidermis – the first Skin – with the practice of Contact Improvisation (CI), the movement of the body in improvisation that has the skin as the contact interface. This work intends to point out how the sensitive practice of the Contact improvisation provides the perception of the dimensions of the human being, reverberating in aesthetic and political actions that aim to contribute to the cultures of sustainability. In this context, sensitivity becomes a key to the interweaving of the various forms of knowledge, being also considered the necessary premise for real transformations in society. Therefore, the discourse on the sensitive body is extended to reflect the relationship between body and society, with the practice of CI as a possibility of deconstruction of habits, assuming that we have the right to modify our bodies, houses, city and, consequently, the society in favor of the quality of life evidenced in the daily life.
