SUMMARY:

This work is affiliated to the theory guided by enunciative-based semantic studies, whose analysis assumption turns to the reflection on the linguistic materiality perceived through the eyes of Enunciation. Thus, organic and enunciative aspects are considered in the description of language facts. In this research, as the main corpus, we approach the nominal formations (FNs) 'single mother' and 'gay couple', in order to investigate the potentials of articulation that the nucleus-nouns and their convergent ones, through the internominal articulatory process, present in relation to the historical referentials that sustain them. We also aimed at understanding which enunciative reasons anchor these FNs, as enunciative happenings. To do so, we worked with a data collection, available in digital media. Our searches were conducted through the Google search site, and had as input the keywords, written in quotation marks, 'single mother' and 'gay couple', which constitute, according to the theoretical perspective to which we are affiliated, nominal formations. In the sequence, we carried out the selection and analysis of the occurrences, seeking to understand, above all, how the bundles of meaning are organized by the FNs researched, in enunciative network with other FNs, such as: 'solo mother'; ‘single father’; 'gay marriage; 'gay pride'; 'independent production; 'independent motherhood'; 'empowered mothers'; 'female empowerment’ and 'family'. From this, we seek to achieve the main objective proposed here, namely: to investigate what enunciative reasons sustain the movement of encapsulation and referential dilation that the nucleus-name performs with its convergents in the constitution of nominal formations. Our results allowed us to realize that the name 'mother', through the mechanisms of referential dilation and encapsulation, articulates itself internally with the convergents 'single' and 'solo', in a clash proper of the linguistic, in order to (re)signify the social roles of women, in relation to motherhood, in everyday life. On the other hand, we conclude that the noun 'couple', articulating center of reference in 'gay couple', has been going through a movement of expansion of its domain of meaning, through the aggregation of a new convergent - 'gay' - in an enunciative dynamic that we name as referential dilation. Moreover, we demonstrate how these FNs are mobilized in network and what effects of meaning they produce, in interface with other FNs, which are part of the same domain of signification.
