SUMMARY:

This work is inspired by the way in which Wallace interprets Wittgenstein's work based on the key of solipsism. The author explicitly connects the philosopher and the literary project that led to Infinite Grace. the limits of language and consciousness. The possibility of art as a spiritual project, as a way of life in the search for the transcendence of the self. Wittgenstein's influence also weighs heavily on this essay, the author being directly named more than once, and the influence of the Wittgensteinian way of seeing language and its effects can be felt in the text. In addition to dealing directly with the artist's limits and self-awareness with language, the essay deals to a lesser extent with irony, a subject that will also be addressed, given its recurrent importance in Wallace's literary project.
