AREA: Letras
SUBÁREA: Teoria Literária
SUMMARY:

This research proposes an analysis of the relationship between the urban landscape and wanderings in the adaptation of the literary work A Man Who Sleeps, by French writer Georges Perec, into a cinematographic narrative, which focuses on the experience of an anonymous character immersed in the dynamics of the city. from Paris. This character, who alludes to the flâneur, a term very present in 19th century literary culture, is characterized, in general aspects, by his urban explorations through walks and observation of the landscape. The study aims to correlate the posture of this wanderer with the relevance of the city environment in the construction of Perec's narrative, establishing a link between the Parisian context portrayed, the artistic experiences that are also involved in the urban setting and contemporary interpretations of the role played by the act of flinching. On the theoretical axis, the work will connect references on the urban landscape ranging from Charles Baudelaire and Walter Benjamin, to Rebecca Solnit, Lauren Elkin and Paola Berenstein Jacques. From the perspective of Irina Rajewsky and Claus Cluver, the concepts of intermediality and media transposition will be worked on.
