SUMMARY:

The general objective is to verify if the referred texts by Ocampo constitute or not examples of the 

marvelous realism, through the analysis of the narrative strategies explored by the author. 

Starting from this idea, I will seek to present the theory of the fantastic and its developments 

in Gothic literature, as well as the theory of marvelous realism in the literary context of 

Latin America and Argentina. There is also an attempt to elucidate the main strategies explored 

in fantastic writing (“strange” or unheimlich, double, real and abject) to verify their possible 

presence in Ocampo's texts.
