SUMMARY:

The main objective of this research is to investigate the influence and the Central African contribution in the formation process of the Nagô Candomblé of the Ketu nation in São João del Rei during the 20th and 21st centuries. It was intended to historically repair the social and theoretical factors that led to the prestige and visibility of religions of Sudanese origin, famous and invisible to the practices originating from the complete Bantu ethnolinguistics. Contrary to what was established as praxis in the evaluation of such manifestations, this research is based on the Kongo-Angola version of the concept of Nagoicization, rethinking the liturgical bases of Kongo-Angola candomblé. The work intends to analyze other related aspects, such as the concept of syncretism and the recent historical perspectives of black Catholicism in Brazil, debates inseparable from the investigation proposed here. To this end, this study will be based on observation through the monitoring of public and private agreements - the latter according to previous negotiation, since the researcher is also practical - of five terreiros de podeblé, in addition to oral history interviews with leaders and members.
