This work aims to analyze cases of violence against women in nineteenth-century Minas Gerais society, in the criminal procedural collection of the district of Oliveira.
A period marked by profound transformations in society, growth of cities, expansion of commerce, implementation of the judiciary power together with the growth of the state machine.
In this sense, we will analyze how cases of violence against women occurred in this society in a profound process of growth and change, and how the system took place. Judiciary at the time dealt with procedural criminal demands.
