IDENTITY, RELIGIOSITY, REPRESENTATION
The present dissertation is a study of the Identities, representations and practices of devotion to Beata Francisca de Paula de Jesus ( Nhá Chica) in the district of Rio das Mortes Pequeno, belonging to the mining town of São João del Rei, how it correlates with the formation of the Brazilian national religious identity in the colonial period, as well as the emergence of national saints, with the intention of identifying a possible connection between the process of Brazilian national identity with Catholic identity, the construction of collective memory and the relationship between church and state. the research seeks to analyze, through memory and the practice of oral history, how the process of identity regarding Beata began in the community and influenced the construction of a set of representations in this regard.
