Representations of the armed struggle in the pages of Jornal do Brasil during the civil-military dictatorship (1967-1973)
Civil-military dictatorship; press; armed struggle.
This dissertation is a study on the representations of the armed struggle in the Jornal do Brasil between 1967 and 1973. With an emphasis on the period of the civil-military dictatorship, it sought to understand the possibilities of broadcasting the armed struggle against the dictatorship established in Brazil in 1964 through one of the most important journals of the main Rio press, in addition to identifying and discussing the approaches and speeches produced by Jornal do Brasil on this theme. Based on these assumptions, this research goes against studies related to the role of the mainstream Brazilian press during the authoritarian government, in this case, through the representations produced about the armed struggle and the influence on public opinion about the opposition to the Brazilian civil-military dictatorship .
