SUMMARY:

The study of the tensile strength of threads is necessary considering that the threading process is present in almost all parts produced in the industries of the metalworking sector. This research aims to study the tensile strength of machined and shaped threads produced in through holes produced by the friction drilling process. The internal threading process with a cutting tap is widely used in the industry, easy to apply and, in general, low cost. Threads can be internal or external and the main manufacturing processes are machining and rolling. Its manufacture takes place at the end of the production of the piece, which adds high value to the product. The scarcity of research papers on the tensile strength of machined and formed threads led to interest in research development. The methodology adopted in this study is characterized by a qualitative, bibliographical approach. The experimental tests will be carried out using specimens in the laboratory of the educational institution.
