SUMMARY:

This study aims to evaluate drained bushings obtained through the friction drilling process used with Aluminum 7075-T6. For this, a special flowdrill tool was purchased and then 24 specimens were made in plates of different thicknesses with different operating parameters such as feed and cutting speed. All specimens were subjected to non-destructive tests of roundness and cylindricity in order to determine deviations in shape, after this stage the specimens were split so that the roughness study could be carried out in order to analyze the surface finish of the holes . The dimensions of the drained bushing will also be the subject of study, measurements will be made of the collar that results above the upper face, the height and thickness of the drained bushing below the lower face, all through the optical microscope and wall micrometer. Later and finally, all specimens will be subjected to microhardness tests with the intention of comparing the hardness in the region of the drained bushing with the hardness of the material. As a partial result, it was found that for the roughness data the variable that had the most effect was the sheet thickness. As for cylindricity and roundness, the interaction of cutting speed with sheet thickness proved to be the variable that most influenced the process.
