SUMMARY:

The bioinputs market is growing and generates more than R$1 billion annually in Brazil. Thisscenario is a reflection of technological advances in the area, the efficiency of bioproducts andthe sector's concern with environmental safety, sustainability and reduction in productioncosts. Currently, several groups of microorganisms are recommended for seed inoculation. However, it is necessary to evaluate the compatibility and synergism between these microorganisms. Thus, the objective of this work was to evaluate the compatibility of seed inoculation between different functional groups (Bacillus, Azospirillum and arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi). Initially, 4experiments were conducted (three in a phytotron and one in a seedbed), aiming to select among13 strains of Azospirillum brasilense, the most efficient for promoting germination andinitial development of seedlings in two maize genotypes (BRS Caimbé and hybrid DKB390 RR2) .Thevariables studied were germination, shoot and root length and dry biomass. In phytotron, theinoculated material was superior to the control for most of the strains evaluated. Intheconstruction site test, there was no statistical difference for any variable analyzed. Thejoint analysis of the four experiments indicated that the strains CMS 1630, BDF 145.1, CMS7andCMS 11 had the best performance. The strains were characterized for Indole Acetic Acid(IAA)production and biofilm formation. They all produce AIA and there was a statistical differencebetween the strains. The strains with the highest AIA production were CMS 1630, CMS2153and CMS 11, respectively producing 76μg/ml, 75.73 μg/ml and 63.86 μg/ml. Nobiofilmformation was detected. These strains are being genotyped using the Box-PCRprofileandidentified by phylogenetic analysis with the rpoD gene and SSU rRNA. After completingthisstage, which is nearing completion, experiments will be carried out to evaluate the compatibilityand synergism between 6 selected strains of Azospirillum inoculated with Bacillus and MAfungi
