SUMMARY:

Soybeans in Brazil have been occupying a prominent position in the world's
agribusiness, being the largest production grain.Due to good performance and high
productivity, the demand for inoculants that contribute to nodulation and increase
productivity isgrowing. Biological Nitrogen Fixation (FBN), performed by diazotrophic
bacteria, such as those of the Azospirillum genus, is seen as one of the strategies for
reducing the use of nitrogen fertilizers in agriculture and increasing production. Given
the facts, the objective of this work is to select efficient Azospirillum strains, compatible
with Rhizobium, in order to evaluate co-inoculation in soybean crop. The following
treatments were used: 15 Azospirillum strains taken from the forage diazotrophic bacteria
collection (BDF) and from the soil microorganisms collection (CMS) with Rhizobium
co-inoculation; 1 control treatment without inoculation; 1 treatment with only Rizhobium
inoculation. The treatments received a dose of 6ppm of N (Nitrogen) (A), 15ppm ofN
(B), and then 1 treatment was added at the high dose of 45ppm N (C) without inoculation.
All treatments were set up in triplicate, forming a split-plot scheme in a randomized block
design (DBC) with 105 experimental units: 15x2x3+3. To evaluate the rootsystem and
the effects of biological nitrogen fixation, the following parameters will be analyzed:
number of nodules, number of root, root length, root mass, dry mass accumulation, N
content and content. The results will be submitted to analysisof variance and when
significant, the Scott-Knot test will be performed at 5% probability when dealing with
quantitative factors through the SISVAR statistical program.
