SUMMARY:

Analytical cross-sectional study carried out in 2021 with the objective of quantifying the

proportion of vaccine delay in children under five years of age in three municipalities in Minas

Gerais and analyzing the associated factors. Face-to-face interviews were carried out in the

households and 456 vaccination records were evaluated. Exposure variables were selected, and

a descriptive analysis employed. It was identified that 60.3% of the children surveyed had

received 1 dose or more of vaccine more than 30 days late and 18.2% had some dose overdue

at the time of collection. The main reasons for non-vaccination were forgetting, lack of vaccine

in the health unit and child illness. Vaccination delay was quite significant and was associated

with the child's age and greater number of siblings.
