This research aims to understand the incipient process of refunctionalization of old industrial spaces that currently serve to advance the tertiary sector. The spatial cutout in question covers the industrial city-MG, bordering Belo Horizonte and Contagem, aiming to analyze the junction of David Sarnoff and Babita Camargos avenues, the so-called “postcard” of the industrial city, as it is known in some newspapers and magazines of great circulation. This research intends to diagnose the probable redefinition of the economic profile of investment in the industrial city, thus ensuring a capitalist transition from the industrial role to that of services and commerce, thus identifying the social agents according to their interests in the configuration of the urban space, which constitutes a reinsertion of counting the urban context of RMBH promoting spatial restructuring through a new population dynamics and a new process of land occupation
