Drosera: structural and ecological diversity in the insect-plant
relationship
carnivorous plants, Drosera, insect-plant interaction, morphoanatomy, Serra
do Cipó.
The genus Drosera (Droseraceae) has 32 species occurring in Brazil, being 19 endemic to
the country. In this project, will be performed morphoanatomical analyzes of all species
found in field expeditions in Serra do Cipó, Minas Gerais. The analyzes that will be carried
out are presented and described, in order to analyze the mechanisms of attraction of prey
among the species; to compare the prey capture structures of each collected species;
compare prey captured between each species; the morphological and anatomical diversity
of these species will be analyzed, and the possible relationship between these
characteristics and the capture of insects, as well as the histochemical characterization of
the class of chemical compounds produced by each species, and its influence on prey
capture.
