Urban landscape; patrimonialization; roughness; memory; cartography.
This study intends to analyze the urban landscape of Conselheiro Lafaiete from the different perceptions collected in the essays, in the interpretation of maps, in the old photographs and in the historiographical survey of the urbanization period. The background in which this research-intervention is developed is found in the socioeconomic phenomena, in the principles of patrimonial and environmental preservation, in the search for improving the quality of life of citizens and in the analysis of the real estate expansion that affects the central area. The cutout chosen for the experiment are the streets Afonso Pena and Dr. Melo Viana for the diversified composition of built heritage, especially that of historical value, and for being a landmark in the dynamics of the city and a symbol of the production of the identity of its people, needing to be understood and experienced. Theoretical discussions are distributed throughout the chapters, as well as the narratives of the practice of wandering in the cartographic process of inhabiting this territory.
