The "Everything goes well" Workshop - a micro cosmology of Assis Calixto's universe
popular culture; popular art and territory; Samba de Coco Raízes de Arcoverde group; Master Assis Calixto Montenegro
Popular culture can be seen as a set of manifestations through which people give meanings to its rites of passage, religions, beliefs, commemorative dates, festivities, through practices that can blend any of several artistic languages. In this place of experience within popular culture, humanity transforms its beliefs and ways of being into dance, music, images, objects, works on its composition, invents its own clothing, and, in its own way, suspends the sky. In this way, it can strengthen in individuals a sense of community, a relationship of belonging to the place, and a responsibility towards it. It can somehow change individuals' way of being in the world. This dissertation focuses on the work of a person in one of its functions or activities within a group composed of a family from a city that lives and values its popular culture in a very strong and unique way: the plastic productions coming from the workshop "Tudo dá Certo", of Mestre Assis Calixto Montenegro, master of the group Samba de Coco Raízes de Arcoverde.
