THE URBAN LANDSCAPE OF CONSELHEIRO LAFAIETE AND THE DIFFERENT PERCEPTIONS ABOUT THE SAME SCENE

This study intends to question the urban landscape of Conselheiro Lafaiete from from the collections throughout the investigative process, carried out, mostly on the streets. The cut chosen, for this research-intervention, was the central area of the city with an approach on the streets Afonso Pena and Dr. Melo Viana, two centuries-old commercial thoroughfares. They have different dynamics of use and a heterogeneous built heritage, however, have a unique and recurrent claim, of investment in infrastructure. The town is booming demographic, with alterations in the physical and social aspects, and in the process of revision of the Master Plan, a tense moment of dispute of medical interests in which the change of protection to immovable property of historical-cultural value if are weakened. This research was established from the theory of Donald Meinig about observation, and developed under the concepts of Milton Santos, Kevin Lynch and José Magnani on urban landscape and heritage history, culminating in Paola's knowledge of experience and narrative Jacques, Jorge Larrosa, Walter Benjamin and João do Rio. academic production is divided into analysis of socioeconomic, historiographical, spatial and assets, and in essay texts, such as “Letters to Regina” and the “Urban Narratives”. The visual production has a Catalog of images and urban designs, as factual records of the Lafaieten scene.
