The study aims evaluate how the school space’s transformation into an agroecological garden may lead to environmental learning, food safety and the resignificance of the school grounds. This study was guided by the constructive process of Agroecology, through systemical thinking and transdisciplinarity to bring precepts of sustainable agriculture to the educational scope. The Methodology Tierra de niñas, niños y jóvenes para el buen vivir (TiNi) was important inspiration, once it acts helping children to understand their role in sustainable development in cities. The techniques applied for data collection were: interviews and questionnaires, field diary and photographs collected through participant observation. Among the achieved results, stand out the followings: the children’s appropriation and sense of belonging of the garden, the increase of the school’s meals with fresh and healthy food, the interpersonal relationships’ improvement during activities, the revitalization of the landscape of different environments in the school and the increase of sustainable agricultural practices.
