SUMMARY:

The study on the theme “Innovation in Public Services: implementation of SIGAA at the Federal University of São João del-Rei – UFSJ – MG, aims to analyze the implementation process of the Integrated System of Academic Activities Management - SIGAA within the scope of the University Federal de São João del-Rei - UFSJ in order to investigate its viability as a technological innovation. As specific objectives, it aims to describe the Integrated Management Systems, highlighting innovation in Federal Institutions of Higher Education; investigate the feasibility of implementing the Integrated System of Academic Activities Management – SIGAA as a technological innovation; and, propose necessary interventions from the data collected during the research to improve the computerization process and meet the needs of UFSJ users. The research methodology will be guided, initially, by a bibliographic review and documentary research. Subsequently, it will be complemented by a field study with a semi-structured interview with research collaborators who are related to the Federal University of São João del – Rei - UFSJ. The expected results show the presentation of the main concepts related to the topic addressed - Public Administration and the presentation of the results corresponding to the reality of UFSJ in relation to the implementation of SIGAA as an innovation in public administration, in addition to the necessary intervention proposals from the collected data.
