SUMMARY:

Nanomaterials has been widely used in recent years in various areas of knowledge. Several studies show that NPs are internalized by cells and this process depends on the amount and size of NP to trigger a biological response (Panzarini et al,2018).

Adjuvants are widely used to induce immunization and vaccines. It is not well known how they work and many still cause adverse reactions. There are several indications in the literature that show that the use of gold nanoparticles works as an adjunct (Staroverov, 2018; Panzarini et al, 2018; Han et al, 2018; Thaxton et al, 2016). Our group already has preliminary results that demonstrate that the association of gold nanoparticles associated with OVALBUMIN a topically applied improve the repair of mouse skin wounds (Unpublished data). However, we do not know whether this effect of topical application has a therapeutic adjuvant effect.

Thus, this study evaluated whether the association of gold nanoparticles with Ovalbumin via s.c. induced systemic immunization and maintained the phenomena of oral tolerance may be essential to acquire new pharmacological treatments and a new adjuvant and can be used in other future study models.
