SUMMARY:

The (IoT) Internet of Things has become such a reality that we can easily say that it is a path of no return. A large number of devices such as controllers, sensors, actuators, accelerators, etc. are involved and getting more and more involved in our everyday life, not only for the benefit they bring, but also for the lower price of these smart devices. Commonly used equipment such as a refrigerator, to cite an example, today there are already models that, through an internet connection and an LCD screen, allow us to shop, play audio and video, view its interior without having to open the door, send messages to cell phones about which products and how many are inside or simply inform that the door is open or not properly closed. In the IoT scenario, several communication technologies between devices are involved and each one offers its advantages and disadvantages. This project aims to explore technologies that are part of LPWAN communication networks whose advantage is to send information over large distances and with reduced energy consumption. For this purpose, prototypes would be developed that would explore the LoRa technology (Radio) and the LoRaWAN network protocol, which would involve numerous tests Indoor and Outdoor in real environments to analyze the results and search for improvements. In the end, a functional LoRaWan GATWAY would be made available to the community of São João del-Rei - MG.
