DISSIDENT BODIES: Queer theory and the biopower device in “O casulo Dandara”
transvestite; queer theory; body; power; biopower
The body has always been the primary territory of domination and control of user relations. In this dissertation, we deal with how these structures that are close and that are closer in the structures of relationships (on the right) are life and death connected to power and biopower devices, regulating sexuality in dissident bodies. To do so, we use the literary work “o casulo Dandara”, a posthumous biography of the transvestite Dandara Katheryn, who died at the age of 42, on February 15, 2017, in the Bom Jardim neighborhood, in Fortaleza (CE) using the contributions of Michel Foucault and Judith Butler in the construction of queer theory.
