Homeschooling and/in discourse: an analysis of debates in the Chamber of Deputies and the posts in Instagram

The research sought to examine, based on the foundations of Critical Discourse Analysis (FAIRCLOUGH, 1992; 2003), the representations built in support of homeschooling in debates that took place in the Chamber of Deputies and in posts on Instagram. The two corpora are composed, respectively, of excerpts from two debates that took place in the Chamber and eight posts made on Instagram, which are analyzed from the perspective of their actional, representational and identificational meanings. Preliminary results indicate that neoliberal discourse is articulated in both corpora. On the other hand, the neo-conservative discourse that runs through the posts is not used in the representations made in the debates.
