This course aims to introduce students to the development of public health policies in Brazil, starting from the establishment of the Brazilian Republic until the evelopment of the Unified Health System (SUS). Students will acquire a comprehensive understanding of the historical process that led to changes in the Constitution, and examine the present challenges, advancements, and setbacks within the Brazilian healthcare system. Moreover, the course will emphasize the significance of health indicators in the monitoring, evaluation, and planning of initiatives aimed at enhancing the overall health conditions in the country.
