Secondary education has challenges and particularities, among which we highlight the need to a willingness to learn, which presupposes the internalization of educational practices. Student refusals are shown to be symptoms of problems in this stage, which configure a mismatch between the expectations related to the functions attributed to the student and the singularities of these young people who arrive at schools. so this research aims to investigate to what extent the singularities of high school students contemporary are recognized by school education. For that purpose, the This dissertation has as its main theoretical reference the works of Michel Serres, for their fruitful contributions to thinking about the contemporary youth population. We used, especially, Mestiça Philosophy (1993), Polegarzinha (2013) and Tempo de Crise (2017). In order to understand the relationship between today's teenagers and the Brazilian school, based on laws, articles, books and guiding documents that address the theme, highlighting the works of José G. Sacristán (2003); Ana Paula Corti (2014); Thomas S. Popkewitz (1994); Paulo Carrano and Juarez Dayrell (2014); Aldimara Boutin and Karen Silva (2018) and Pierre Lévy (1999). We also carried out a field survey, inspired by the focus group methodology and analyzed from the cartography propositions, with second-year high school students at the Garcia de Lima State School, located in the municipality of São João del-Rei. Thus, we echoed in this dissertation, which aims to central elements listening and recognizing the individuality of students, some of youth voices.
